From Night Owl To Early Bird

My life has changed drastically over the past 9 months…

It’s more about me finding where I needed to be in life, and right now, I’m probably the happiest I have ever been in all my 47 years on earth.

But for the most of 2018 and especially the last 8 months it has been very hard. After the split I moved back to Bangkok full time, leaving my ex and my 5 year old daughter in Norway, whilst I then went on a self destruct mission. I partied almost every night, drinking myself into oblivion, and at the same time enjoying all the trappings that come with living in a city such as Bangkok…

It all started when I split from my ex-wife in May 2018 (this is a not a post bitching about that, quite the opposite, as we are now great friends and everything is much better for all concerned).

Then in September, it was decided that it would be best all round if Jasmine move to live with me in Thailand and grew up here where she was born with her family around her. This meant I had real responsibilities to man up to and had to quickly re-evaluate my lifestyle.

I moved into a 2 bedroom condo that was empty and soon set about making this a home for me & Jasmine.

In early November she came out to live here with me full time and the task then was to get her in a school, she started school at the end of January after having 3 months of quality time with me and her family here in Bangkok.

This has now brought me a new lifestyle that I am actually loving.

I’ve taken advice and follow 3 people who have helped me massively in getting stability and a solid routine with awareness back into my life.

Aaron Darko – All round great guy who drops awesome knowledge bombs, the main one being taking cold showers daily, this has really helped me.

So whats my new regime?

My Wine Glass Is Now A Healthy Smoothie…

06:10am – wake up – Get Jasmine ready for school, take my daily fresh garlic, fresh ginger and honey, drink 600ml water (50 Mins Time Slot)
07:00am – School Run – Take Jasmine to school, on the way home go buy fruit, veg, food for the day & any households items needed etc (50 Mins Time Slot)
07:50am – Meditate – (10mins Time Slot)
08:00am – Reading Session – I aim to read 1 book per week (50mins Time Slot)
08:50am – Break – do light exercise to keep my brain sharp, any of the following, 10 min walk around the condo block, push ups, treadmill, burpees, swim 8 lengths of the pool, whatever takes my fancy during the 10 min break to stimulate my mind and break from the Reading.
09:00am – Work Session – (50mins Time Slot)
09:50am – Break – do light exercise to keep my brain sharp, any of the following, 10 min walk around the condo block, push ups, treadmill, burpees, swim 8 lengths of the pool, whatever takes my fancy during the 10 min break to stimulate my mind and break from the Laptop.
10:00am – Work Session – (50mins Time Slot)
10:50am – Break – do light exercise to keep my brain sharp, any of the following, 10 min walk around the condo block, push ups, treadmill, burpees, swim 8 lengths of the pool, whatever takes my fancy during the 10 min break to stimulate my mind and break from the Laptop.
11:00am – Work Session – (50mins Time Slot)
11:50am – Break – do light exercise to keep my brain sharp, any of the following, 10 min walk around the condo block, push ups, treadmill, burpees, swim 8 lengths of the pool, whatever takes my fancy during the 10 min break to stimulate my mind and break from the Laptop.
12:00pm – Work Session – (50mins Time Slot)
12:50pm – Break – do light exercise to keep my brain sharp, any of the following, 10 min walk around the condo block, push ups, treadmill, burpees, swim 8 lengths of the pool, whatever takes my fancy during the 10 min break to stimulate my mind and break from the Laptop.
13:00pm – Work Session – (50mins Time Slot)
13:50pm – Break – my fasting stops now and I have a blended drink made from mixed berries, bananas, pineapple, coconut water, coconut milk, MCT oil + 2 or 3 other fruit and veg that are in season so that its different everyday – during this break I also take Fish Oil & Stem Cell Supplements (I’m going to do a full article about this on Medium very soon).
14:00pm – Work Session – (50mins Time Slot)
14:50pm – Break – do light exercise to keep my brain sharp, any of the following, 10 min walk around the condo block, push ups, treadmill, burpees, swim 8 lengths of the pool, whatever takes my fancy during the 10 min break to stimulate my mind and break from the Laptop.
15:00pm – Reading Session – (40mins Time Slot)
15:40pm – Break – do light exercise to keep my brain sharp, any of the following, 10 min walk around the condo block, push ups, treadmill, burpees, swim 8 lengths of the pool, whatever takes my fancy during the 10 min break to stimulate my mind and break from the Laptop.
15:50pm – School Run – I collect Jasmine from School and we then spend quality time together until she sleeps at about 21:00pm. (70mins Slot)
17:00pm – Swimming with Jasmine – (60mins Slot)
18:00pm – Playtime With Jasmine – spend quality time with Jasmine until she sleeps (2-3 Hour Slot)
21:00pm – The late shift – usually watch training videos, get on live skype calls, catch up on social media, write emails (This slot varies everyday from 60mins to 6 hours depending on what is going on that day).

So you can see I’ve gone all in from Monday to Friday everyday, up at 06:10am & a strict regime that is paying benefits already. Although I am pretty lucky that I have a gym under my living room…

And also a swimming pool just off my balcony…

My life now is that of an early bird, where my daughter comes before everything else, I want to spend as many hours every day as possible with her, as so many people have said to me they wish they spent more time with their kids.

I’m so lucky now, because I have positioned it so that I can work my life and business around Jasmine, so that we get to spend 6-7 hours together every weekday PLUS most of the weekends together. How many parents can say they get 50-60 hours per week quality time spent with their 5 year old children?
